* At the March Energy & Environmental Committee meeting staff provided an overview of the Fleet Emission Reduction Analysis that was completed by the Lake County Division of Transportation.
* Staff has conducted additional analysis based on discussion during the March meeting and will present their findings regarding alternative vehicle makes and models.
* At the February committee meeting, direction was provided to staff to investigate the process to join the County Climate Coalition, a national coalition which aims to engage and encourage county governments across the nation to implement proactive strategies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions. * In April staff presented a draft resolution for Lake County to join the County Climate Coalition.
* The resolution incorporates comments received at the April meeting and reaffirms the County’s commitment to environmental sustainability and mitigating climate change and
* The Metropolitan Mayors Caucus’ Greenest Region Compact is a guiding document that will help the County prioritize its environmentally responsible actions, track its achievements, and state its commitment to a sustainable future.
* In April staff presented the Greenest Region Compact as an additional option to joining the County Climate Coalition. A draft resolution was presented for discussion.
* The resolution endorses the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus’ Greenest Region Compact and makes a commitment to support the consensus goals included within the Compact. Attachments: Resolution - Greenest Region Compact
